A/N: No, this is not about South Park. I figured this would be an interesting title however. Hopefully it draws attention and will help me get more reviews for this piece. Anyways, thanx for your time, please read and review, always appreciated! ~Jessica~
The police were knocking at the door
That cold and stormy night
When everything changed
And darkness consumed light
It was far past curfew
Where could Kenny be?
It was pouring rain now
And you could hardly see
The knocking was persistent
And their hearts began to race
His parents were oblivious to the fact
That they’d never see his face
The officer explained to them
That their son was now dead
He’d been killed in an accident
He should have called them instead
Yet in his foolish mind
He thought he’d be okay
He’d only had a few drinks
Besides he couldn’t stay
And so he began to drive
Speeding up to beat the clock
He wouldn’t be out late he said
As he zoomed past the dock
Heading around the bend
He saw the headlights too late
That’s when he realized
He had met his fate
He heard the screeching of tires
As they both slammed on their brakes
The metal and glass shatters
As the car frame buckles and breaks
It’s easy for him to see now
How one mistake can end it all
Surely now he wishes
He had only made the call
If he had he would still be here
As well as the family of four
Who were all killed in the crash
They were his neighbors from next-door
Those alcoholic beverages
He’d decided to drink
They killed Kenny because
He didn’t stop to think
To ponder the damage
That he could cause
The effect it would have
If he broke those laws
Now five people are gone
And they can’t ever come back
That’s why we all stand here
Dressed fully in black
We’re mourning their deaths
So tragically taken
The souls of them which
Have been forever forsaken
Where are they now?
In heaven or hell?
Does it really matter?
We’ve said our farewell
You can’t blame the boy
He meant no harm
He just couldn’t hear
The silent alarm
Maybe things were meant
To happen this way
And maybe we all were meant
To learn a lesson today
