[glow=red,2,300]I wrote this about my foster mom... She was actually my best friends mom and when I needed a home they took me in... anyway, let me know what you think... its still a work in progress...
You are the mom I never had You come running to my side when I need you the most When she wasn't there, I could always count on you When she abandonded me, you held me tighter in your arms You showed me love when she showed me pain You taught me how to love, when all I knew was hate You told me I was beautiful when she looked at me in scorn You quieted my fears when she pushed me away You told me I was something when her only word was "nothing" You wiped away my tears when she didn't show up You calmed my fears when I was overcome with life You are the mom I never had It was always you, and only you Words cannot express the thanks I hold in my heart for you You are the mom I always wanted You are my mom in every sense of the word You are my mom [/glow]

That was really emotional, it was nice of your best friend's mom to do that, that shows what kind of person she is. It was really nice to read and I like it.

Wow. I really really like this one. In some ways I can relate to it. You did an excellent job conveying the hurt, the gratitude, the anger, and the love in this. I don't know if that's what you were feeling when writing this, but that's what I got out of it.
Fantastic job. I love all of your work.
"You wiped away my tears when she didn't show up You calmed my fears when I was overcome with life You are the mom I never had It was always you, and only you"
That section really hit me, because I know what its like to be so hopeful and then to be let down....that need to cry is exruciating(sp?) sometimes. This poem really was superb.

this is an amazing poem and like the others i feel rather emotional at the moment. My first thought was it would be good for the poem to have a break in the middle - so we could read more about your feeling towards your real mother - anger / hate / a desperation to understand her actions? Then I realsied it wouldnt work. That the poem is perfect as it is. The poem is an appreciation of your foster mother, not a means to calm your feelings towards your real mum. and between the lines you can see the pain anyway. a brilliant poem
