p/n: it's hard to put these feelings into words. After I heard all the stories and what happened in the dome down in New Orleans, I was disgusted. I cannot put my true feelings into words but this will have to do.

"Louisiana Lady"
Louisiana lady
I am sorry for your pain
I can see your hands are dirty
and burning from the flames
reach down and touch me
at least make me feel something warm
now that the stories have broke
we're all feeling weak
and they have slit the throats
and let the blood pour out
and I cry hoping I won't drown anymore
and take those men in blue and green
and black with badges
they do not make this problem any better
and take all those people
and shoot them down.
they want an escape
"you've got it"
and the shell hit the floor
little smoke evaporating into the salty air
and no money to move
and turn this into violence
a war against the races
fuck the poor and fuck all those women
getting battered and bruised in bathroom stalls
Louisiana lady,
I am sorry for your loss
your body no longer stands here
just left abandoned on a toilet seat
and blankets will cover you
and you might feel smothered
and when you're buried
I hope you come visit me
and I'm left with all these questions
security fails and government fails
and all the things we thought we could believe in
respect and keep us safe
they all fall apart just like the levee
and someday I hope all those men
with their pretty shiny guns realize what they're doing
and they have slit the throats
and let the blood pour out
and I cry hoping I won't drown anyone more
and turn this into violence
a war against the races
beat all the women dead and leave the children hungry
fuck the poor and fuck it all
they're all going to die anyways
no hope left in their eyes
