a/n: this was inspired by a song title called "I Set My Friends on Fire" ... I'm unsure who its by but it was for a contest. I didn't win but oh well Friends Burning (the bloody, the bruised, the bothersome)weekend was a cut- fire wash-it-all-off-my-hands weekend sitting there on a park bench abandoned again sorry over a faded telephone but I can hear your smile just as well as I can see your better-than-you face the dew will be rather ripe this morning the blood will not show up through dirt underneath about a foot of grass the neighbours awoke what's the rush? what's the orange light shadowing on the wall? your blood is on my clothes but your bones are burning on a rusty lawn door was ajar out come the strangers and the shameless police in underwear what a coincidence what a commotion what a common clear conclusion to teenage angst. still. my teeth are gittery why can't I scrub you out of my jeans? please don't stain they cost a fortune I'm still not smiling even though you're singed into the ground I'm still not smiling even though you're no longer alive . . . if it were a mistake only another weekend a cut up fire weekend could prove it again.

I can't pick out a favorite part, because all of it had something I really like about it, but
"and the shameless police in underwear"
made me kinda laugh when I read it. Gives me this image of these police officers who have no clue how to do their job... In school yesterday we read an article about that little girl, Jessica I think, who got stuck in a well in Texas and the oil diggers could dig down to her, but they didn't know how to rescue her... Reminds me a little of that.
This also seems to have some rather dark humor hidden in there, but not like anything extremely harsh... I like this.
