Seventeen years of gut-wrenching introspection and I've finally dug up this mangled heart. Pushing past hollow stop signs that tell of fake romances and useless attempts at the word "love." Underneath a pile of broken words with empty meanings This honest heart is still beating. For you, my heart's recovered. With my head on your chest tonight, I'll listen. As your deep breaths tell me stories of forever And your heart beat plays a tune that only my ears could hear. A thousand smiles disguised as one use my mouth as it's scapegoat. We're not speaking tonight because our eyes can recite the most audacious words. "I love you"s no longer exist because my heart is now real. And hearts only last for the ones who deserve them. <3

This has a very strong and emotional message. There are good parts, but the ending in my opinion wasn't evenly matched with the rest of the poem. Certain parts stood on their own, and that's what made it simple words so powerful. Honestly, I loved it. Great job

" Underneath a pile of broken words with empty meanings This honest heart is still beating. For you, my heart's recovered. With my head on your chest tonight, I'll listen" --sounds so beautiful and this: " And your heart beat plays a tune that only my ears could hear" --reminds me of some Soil lyrics that go "sing a song, sing a little song make it only make sense to me" ... I love the idea. I like the idea that words mean nothing when you can feel instead. No need for speech when you've got feeling. Good job!
