Probably not the love poem you were expecting, but its about a love greater than any man's
Written after watching The Passion of the Christ
You knew Judas would betray You, but You still kept him close. You knew, Peter would deny You thrice, but You still kept him by. You knew, You'd be forsaken, crucified, and yet You grew the tree, to build the cross, upon which You died. Your sacrifice was for me. For the sins I commit. You took on that burden, and allowed me to live. Up on Calvary, You lost Your life so that now, thousands of years later, I could have mine. What I'm about to say, may seem small for such a blessing, but its all I can do. Lord, I look to the heavans and weep, screaming out, Thank You.
Not my best poem, but probably one of my more meaningful. What do you think?

That was defintly more meaningful and it was pretty good. I've seen that movie and i cried during it, and i understood it. I understand the poem also. Good Job.

Thank you. Yeah, it was a hard film for me to watch, simply because it really put a real image to what I have known for so long. I cried so hard during it. It was a very moving film

[glow=purple,2,300]maybe juju7days have a point, but i don't think that would be a problem here at SD. i think all the members understand that no one is enforcing any different religion on them and they are certainly not discrimanating against any other religion either. there is a saying... i forgot exactly how it goes but it's like... "When there is destination, there are many ways to get there" i don't know, i guess i just feel that every one has the right to believe what they believe without being affected by outside influence.
...as for the poem, awesome job. all of it was somewhat simple, yet the message is so strong. we don't have a lot of religous poetry, but once we gain several more i'd be more than happy to create its own category.[/glow]

Thanks everybody for the responses. Also, I agree with what Sharon is saying here. By any means, I do not mean to enforce my beliefs upon anybody or offend them. In my opinion, everybody has a right to believe in their own cause, to follow their own path....that includes the spiritual. I have my beliefs and you all have your own. I respect that. Anyway, thanks again for the comments.

I am of a different religion. and I am most definetly NOT offended. I believe that each has his own beliefs in the way things were created and things were done. Anyone of a different religion should not be offended. I understand what you are talking about an I thank you for sharing this piece, I am always intrigued by other peoples beliefs. I saw "The Passion of the Christ" and I admit even with my religious beliefs I find it hard to understand why God would send his son to die? like this poem says... why would He do all this for me? anyways... thank you for sharing... and dont worry about anyone being offended. Once again to each their own and if someone if offended they can STOP reading just as easily as they can be offended...
