Have you ever read a book that just... lingered with you for days? I try to avoid reading books with tragic endings because it truly does affect me emotionally/mentally. The latest one for me was after reading "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana Rosnay.

Never read a depressing book but I have watched a very sad adaptation of one. The Lovely Bones movie was very sad and definitely not one I would watch again

Yeah, I've definitely read a few like that. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold pretty much wrecked me. I remember reading it as I was just sitting in the hall waiting for one of my lit classes to start in college and straight-up sobbing. My professor for that class, who was also my advisor, came upon me and was like, "Oh my gosh, are you okay?!" but when I showed her the book, she totally understood. : : Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson are others that definitely stayed with me but in different ways.

I don't read as much as I used to in the form of novels. Lean more towards alternative health which is uplifting for me lol However, I do recall a few books I read as a kid that were quite deep & I wanted to change the storyline so badly. Sometimes I did in my mind lol Anybody else do that to a depressing book? I've done that to movies & TV shows as well.
