When you're visiting forums in general do you prefer to start new threads or reply to existing ones?

A little bit of both. I find that once I'm comfortable, I will start my own threads, but I spend the initial "getting to know you" phase of any board with replies to existing threads.

If I'm bored I'll create a thread. But if I'm a tad busy that particular day, I'll just read the threads or post a quick comment.

Depends on my mood or what I want to talk about, but generally I go for replies.

I normally just do replies. If I see that there's not much activity or it's a newer board, I'll start some threads to help out. For those who start threads, how do you determine what to post?

Unless the forum is completely new, I'm more of a replier, to be honest. Even with my own forum, I don't start threads that much although I really should be starting a lot more.

I tend to lurk more than anything, to be honest. I'm not super chatty unless it's something I'm really invested in, but I do try to reply to things when I have the time for it.
