Wow... November really flew by. Been pretty busy working on some personal goals, so I haven't been as active as usual, but I do have a couple of digital pieces I got done, though most of my work this month has been traditional. First up is Pyrite! Again! I love drawing them, though this is actually an old sketch from May I cleaned up because I really liked it, haha. And then we have this guy! Allan is a good friend of mine's character, and I drew him for their birthday earlier this month.

Did you generate these digitally? I like the colors of Pyrite. It almost looks like watercolors!

I am also curious, do they begin as drawings on paper and then you transition to digital? I love both Allan and Pyrite, so yall have stories made up for your characters too?

I am also curious, do they begin as drawings on paper and then you transition to digital I've done traditional sketching to digital before, but this one was all digital. I still have the initial sketch for Pyrite, if you're curious. Since I'm able to work in multiple layers with digital art, I tend to do a rough sketch (the lighter blue lines) and then make a new layer where I do something cleaner. Then I can hide or delete the old sketch to keep it looking clean. It's sort of like making a sketch on paper, and then using a lightbox to draw over it on a clean sheet. I like the colors of Pyrite. It almost looks like watercolors! I do use a brush meant to imitate watercolors for the calico spots! I love both Allan and Pyrite, so yall have stories made up for your characters too? Thank you! I do. I spend a lot of time thinking about my characters and their lives, haha. Some are more intricate than others, though.

I use to have a character with a whole life story behind her, but I was never the artist. I loved being able to come up with a scene in my head and my best bud being able to sketch out the scene, seems almost magical to me. Paper or digital, I think creative drawing is amazing. Thanks for sharing your process, I hope we get to see more work from you!

I love these! For those who can do art but not writing & vice versa, be great if it's a tag team to get a good story going! Any of you thought of doing that?

Yes! It's a lot of fun! It's only recently that I feel like I've really been able to bring my characters to life in a way that represents them well.
I don't have the stamina to collaborate on projects like that, but maybe one day after I've increased my skillset! I know a lot of comics and webtoons can be the work of an artist and a writer working together, and of course, animation is a whole team. It's a lot of work, but it seems fun.

I love the colours used for Pyrite and I just love the way Allan looks! What programs do you use to create/draw these?
