I have hypertension and take medication for it. My doctor has me on NIFEdipine and Labetalol which I take daily. I take my medications before bed because I get headaches as a side effect. I'd love to not be dependent on these meds but the doctor said that I may just need to for the rest of my life. There's a chance that I could get off the medication if I lose weight and eat better. Which I know I need to do anyway, it's been a journey.
Does anyone here also have high blood pressure?

I have a blood pressure monitor at home as well as a pulse/oxygen monitor. My blood pressure averages about 120/70. But if I don't watch my sodium intake, it will shoot up very fast.

It runs in my family, but I avoid most things that would spike it, so I don't think it will be an issue for me.

I don't as of yet, but most of the people in my family have it. I think it's mostly because of the food and lack of exercise. My spouse gets headaches so bad he has to vomit, take a shower and take a nap. He should be on blood pressure meds, but refuses to take them.

I was once diagnosed with hypertension, I even took medication for one year. Then I decided to try alternative therapy and dietary modification. I am perfect, fine these days. hypertension is a lifestyle disease that can be easily reversed.
