Have you ever tried dating online? I've tried different places like Plenty of Fish and OK Cupid in the past but those dates never worked out for me. Now with mobile apps being the norm like Tinder and Bumble meeting people online has become the trend it looks like.
What's your experience like with online dating?

I dated 2 girls via online dating. The 1st was a tree hugging eco nut. She gave me a great big lecture about me driving a Hummer. She said that it was a big gas guzzling monster and that my carbon footprint was too big. I think her mouth was too big. LOL
The 2nd was a gold digger and was asking me too many questions about my house and finances. Both of these girls never got a 2nd date with me. After these two miserable experiences I officially gave up with the whole idea of online dating.

I've used online dating quite a bit. It is completely hit or miss. I've met some really great people, but I've also had to block quite a few gross ones too. If it weren't so difficult to actually meet people, especially right now, I'd delete them all.

Trying it right now, been talking with what seem like nice women. I hope it goes somewhere in the near future.

Haven't tried it yet but I am looking into jumping on a few of the popular apps at some point. Probably try Tinder, Bumble and Hinge to see what they are like

I'd avoid tinder unless you want a one night hookup.

I know many people are using it and finding their loved ones, but in our area it is not yet popular. Our society is mostly conservative, so people are shy of such kind of sites. 😆

I think people have definitely embraced the online dating platforms. Smartphones have made it even easier to meet people via these channels.

I really wish they didn't try and pull money from you, most will either trick you into spending money or have to pay to even talk to another.

I prefer to not use online dating sites. I know way too many of my friends that had actual issues with getting good dates from those services. Not many of them managed to find decent people from those sort of dating sites. Even the religious oriented sites tend to have people who want to abuse the system, for a free night and a meal.

I see this comment a lot, but really, is there any lesser or greater chance than going out and randomly meeting someone?

Easier to judge a person, if you had met them in actual life before deciding to go on a date with them. Find it annoying to find out someone is not what they say they are, when the online information contradicts what they are actually like.

I'd strongly advise against online dating. I haven't found anybody worth talking to in doing so (in the past) and it has the same dynamics as a direct mail campaign, as there's an imbalance to it. (I did the math once and calculated that there were eight to nine men on the sites I was examining for every woman.) I've found my partners by just having a good group of friends. You're guaranteed to have people to relate to, by definition, so that part of "dating" is out of the way.

True, but modern technology can easily detect that by looking up a facebook or having a web cam chat before meeting.
