I've mentioned this elsewhere, but...I run pub trivia here in the area, and have also (since the start of the pandemic) re-run the show online. There are no prizes or anything, but it's a cool and entertaining show, if I say so myself. The questions are tough, because it's made for team play, and I do allow for your teams to get together after the questions are asked and talk over the answers.
You'll find the game at atomictrivia.us/playathome.php and we play on Mondays at 7pm Eastern time (that's 2300 UTC if you're in other parts of the world, or 0000 UTC on Tuesday once we are back on standard time after the end of October).
Check it out!

Sounds like fun. I've never actually played pub trivia before. Are there different categories? How are teams made?

I almost always do a general knowledge quiz, so each question is going to be a different "category". I do often have special rounds which are stick to a single category, though.
When online, you can all just sign in on Zoom individually and declare yourself a team. I'll put you in the same breakout room. Then I ask the questions and open the breakout rooms...and you can all go there to discuss the answers privately. What's more, I almost always run clues - there's often a picture which can give you a hint, and I play music which can also be a hint. That's going in the main room while you are discussing things, and you can pop back and forth between the two to get hints or talk over answers, until I close the breakout rooms, which means time's up.

That does sound fun. I've done a few different Pub Trivia sessions (pre-COVID at least). I used to go to a general trivia night all the time which was fun, but have also done Disney Trivia (Team IncrediBelles for the win! We are the reigning champs), Harry Potter Trivia (Team Snitches Get Stitches!), and Comic Book Trivia (Team Gotham Avengers!). We always had a good time, even when we were losing.

scooter , So... I totally missed this oops! When is the next one? It's on Monday, the 4th, at 7pm Eastern...I think that would be 6pm where you are. You have the whole weekend to put a team together!
(We do have a team that is one person - but she was a contestant on Jeopardy!)

That's the whole point! I love teams like that. On Wednesday I had a team spin my category wheel and get Harry Potter...they knew none of the answers, so they just made stuff up. Got a good laugh from the crowd! And I gave them a couple of points anyway, just for that...

How many people are usually in a team? It's anywhere up to eight. I think the usual number is three or four.

Just a reminder that we are doing it again on the 18th! This quiz was a little bit tougher than the last...
