I dabbled in HTML & actually enjoyed doing it. However, there weren't any classes near me when I got stuck. Does anybody know of some good coding sites that would be beneficial for beginners that would also have good support for when I had questions?

This is a bit out of my expertise haha The closest that I dabbled in html and coding was back when I had sites like Funky-Chicken to copy and paste codes from. I wish I could point you in the right direction but I may just lead you astray hahahaha
Sidenote: I typed and re-typed the word "astray" like 3 times just now because for some reason I kept seeing ash tray and that's not what I was going for at all lol It's clearly past my bedtime.

The closest I ever came to learning coding was setting up my MySpace page back in the day. We thought we were like legit hackers because we could use HTML. At this point, I can barely log into my Twitter account without issue.

I was a Java Programmer before quitting to look after my mother, and I spent a good 15 years tinkering with websites and forums prior to that, as well, so I would say I have dabbled in coding quite a bit . For HTML you can check out sites like w3schools.com or htmlgoodies.com as good references

pgen is obviously The Man here, but my wife does the HTML for my company website, so if you need a resource, I could put you in touch.

Does she use templates or can she create pages freehand? I once had a colleague who built databases that integrated well with websites and he would literally write code in a notepad before translating it digitally. I don't know why he did that and I didn't think to ask him about it. At this point, I can barely log into my Twitter account without issue. That's hilarious, only because it's so true. I've gotten in the habit of just saving my passwords in my browser so if I ever have to log in via mobile or on another computer I'm pretty much screwed. lol If only I had a dollar for every time I had to reset my passwords...

I use the Notepad application in Windows."

Thank you all for the replies here! I've tested out w3schools & like their format. It's quite simple & easy to learn. I'm not technically inclined but I am the type who likes to do things on their own if at all possible. Some stuff goes way over my head but I still try! I'm a member of several tech forums & I've amassed a wealth of information.

I know my way around HTML/CSS, though I get rather rusty these days.

I can do basics, but that's about it.

That's understandable, it can seem like learning Greek at times, but it does come easier with practice

I too started learning HTML and CSS a month ago. Actually these are the easiest part of coding. The most complicated part comes when you learn PHP and JavaScript. But I am sure, if you have interest of learning, you can easily grasp and implement your knowledge. I already have completed HTML & CSS lessons, and now moving towards JavaScript. ☺️

HTML, Python, and Java (not as great with it though). I can also code a bit in PHP but I would be looking at guides throughout to make sure I was doing things properly.

If I forgot how to do something basic, I refer to the sites pgen98 linked to. If I want to figure out how to do something a little more complicated, I look up sites that expand on what I am trying to do. And sometimes, going to template generator sites do tend to help, as they can give you a basic idea of what you would like, and then you can experiment with what you know and customize the template.

Not the best for support but W3Schools is an amazing resource to learn to program. It has quite an extensive section for HTML. Honestly, if you have any questions about HTML, a quick Google search will probably be helpful.
