Here's something interesting I wrote after a really cool nightmare:
Running room to room A maze that never ends She watches your anguish grow It's your soul she bends
You think you've found escape As you enter the last door But even as you exit You're where you were before
She haunts you from above Taunting as you flee You feel there's no escape now No hope to be set free
When you finally find the way out The world is drowned in black Knowing if she wants to That she can drag you back

When you finally find the way out The world is drowned in black Knowing if she wants to That she can drag you back I think most can actually relate to this last stanza in some way or other. When we escape a dark place, knowing what it's like to be there mentally one can't help but wonder when will be the next time we will go back there. I think that's awesome that you were able to turn around and write inspired by your nightmare. I'm usually a bit too shaken after a nightmare that I exert my energy into reassuring myself of what's reality and that it was just a dream.

That's pretty awesome. Have you considered putting music to it and making it a song? I'm thinking some heavy metal to keep it sounding dark.
What I really like about this is that I can feel the sense of despair and it's like I'm there too and experiencing it.

"It's your soul she bends" I absolutely loved this line The poem talks about the darkness of human heart caused by love and longing, pain and suffering, drustrations and disappointments.
