Anybody here use Photoshop? What are your experiences with it?
I'm mostly self-taught with it, but I've had a couple of lessons on it through school/University. I'm pretty advanced in the sense that I feel I've got a good workflow when I use it, but I'm still learning the ropes when it comes to making things look as pretty as they can be. ^_^'
How about you?

I love Photoshop but I've never received any formal training with it. Basically I've learned different techniques over the years based on tutorials that others have posted online. I'm pretty amazed at how many resources are available online for free.

I just know basic taking out red-eye & the like with the program that came with the computer. I've never tried Photoshop. How is it for beginners? Is it hard to learn? Has the techniques changed throughout these years?

It's been a while since I've dabbled in the graphic design space... comparing Photoshop with Paintshop Pro, and GIMP I think it's most intuitive option. However, it can be quite a learn curve. On the bright side there are TONS of free tutorials available online. I remember spending hours studying a certain technique and being able to apply the concepts to other designs.

I haven't tried it. Anyway, I heard it's massively expensive. I mean, the main competitor is at the most, $100, I think. I think it's even usually less on the many sales at places like Office Depot. In that case, don't see what the advantage of using Photoshop over its competitor.
