Heres a few sigs I've created: I don't like Ovechkin or the Capitals but the stock was good and I was interested in playing around with some tools: Something I made for a friend: And an avatar to go with it: And my personal favorite:

Besides just using tools in photoshop, you should download some nice brush sets. The stock in your signatures isn't blended with the background too well, but at least you're taking advantage of the space. The thin black borders aren't really necessary for every single thing that you do. Use borders purposefully and sparingly.

Thanks! I do have some brushes, which you can see some of in the signature below. I'm a member of a site that used to be pretty active and I guess I picked up the border thing there... People used to use them a lot but they weren't always black. I agree about the blending part, not sure how to get it much better though. It's a pretty hard skill to master. Ovechkin's hand is really messed up in that one though haha. Didn't post this one earlier cause I'm not really a fan of it, but you can see the brushes in it a little bit. Made if for a friend on another site.

These are cool. I'm hopeless at digital art so I can't really say anything constructive, but yeah. Go Sabres!

I have to agree i'm useless at signatures too, however I have played about a fair bit with image manipulation programs.
Your personal favourite is probably mine too, it seems very easy on the eye, and the glow to the player adds to the effect.

Really cool signatures mate! The borders are my favorite parts of the signatures as they really make everything stand out. The avatar, however, is a bit too simple imo. Perhaps you could do more with it?

Perhaps you could do more with it? Thanks! Avatars are pretty hard to do (due to small size) and with the REALLY small size required for that specific project it was even harder. I took it from the signature so that they matched, and it was hard to take it from anywhere with any detail as it would have been cut off.

I agree about the blending part, not sure how to get it much better though. It's a pretty hard skill to master. Ovechkin's hand is really messed up in that one though haha. The way I went about getting better with blending is to do some brushing on a top layer over your stock and text, maybe try out all the filters and blending options on a top solid-color layer and see how that might help a little.
