I have not written poems since I was a child, but when I do get the urge to create something of an artistic nature, life's natural architecture tends to play a role in my inspiration. It's order and shape helps me to consider deeper meaning which in turn strengthens my ability to create insight. when deciding to write poems, How does your natural surrounding inspire you?

One thing that I've come to realize for me, when I wrote poetry it was always with the intent of someone else reading it. The disadvantage with this mindset is that I limited myself for I always wrote with almost a filter on always concerned about how my message was perceived instead of just writing to purely express myself.
To answer your question, I haven't let my natural surrounding truly inspire me lately. Perhaps I should.
