Hi, I'm downwithquinn! You can call me magpie or Quinn, either works for me!
I am a writer by both profession and passion and excited to get to know other writers (or avid readers!) here. Professionally I write web content and edit for other writers-- helping others improve their writing is important to me and brings a lot of meaning to my life, as well as helps pay the bills! On the passionate side, I enjoy writing poetry and fictional prose (usually literary, occasionally speculative).
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thank you, both of you! I found Serene Distraction through one of my professional gigs-- I'm currently helping a newly-published author set up his web presence, and one of the things he wanted to do was to have a ProBoards forum so that fans of his free eBook series would have somewhere to discuss the books. Carl knew that ProBoards has a lot of good writing communities as well, so he was hoping he could get some experienced traffic to trickle in and give him tips on improving the writing for the series as it goes on. I was on the ProBoards advertising board making a thread for both Tales of Aria and the Discussion Forum, and I saw that Serene Distraction had a thread right below it! I'm always up for discovering a new writing forum, considering it's my passion. And this is a pretty great one! It seems very active, the comments are well thought out and helpful-- everything you could want in a writing community. |
