I'm about halfway through my second playthrough. I was just wondering if anyone had played it & what they thought of it. Personally, I love it. It has kind of consumed my life for the past few days.

I was thinking of picking up the Mass Effect games, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe if there is a deal on Steam I will try them out.

Honestly, the first one is crap compared t the second. They improved so many aspects of the gameplay for ME2. Not only are the controls more player-friendly, but the missions are better planned and the dialogue/cut-scenes are freaking amazing. The story in ME1 was great; the story in ME2 is ten times better. The only reason I would recommend playing ME1 before ME2 is for continuity of the story. It is a much richer experience when you can import your ME1 character and the decisions you made in the first game will effect the gameplay of the second. It is really well done.

I'm actually replaying ME1 right now. It's been so long since I played it that I decided to play it through again, before doing a 3rd ME2 playthrough eventually. Like I said, the playability isn't as good as ME2, but don't get me wrong, it is still a great game.
