Have you ever picked up a book and started reading it and you found yourself not being able to put it down or you found yourself returning to it every chance you got so you could continue reading? Well whether you have or haven't, this book has been like that for me. I finished it minutes ago and I knew I just had to post a review. To be honest, I cannot really describe the book in my own words so here goes the description inside the book cover: "To realize one's destiny is a person's only obligation" - from The Alchemist
PAULO COELHO'S enchanting novel has inspired a devoted following around the world. This story, dazzling in its powerful simplicity and inspiring wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. no one knows what threasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasure found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the imporance of listening to our hearts. If you've read this book, or decide to pick it up... I'm quite curious to hear what you think of it.

I think I have read an excerpt from this once. It sounds interesting. I'll try and pick this up the next time I'm at a bookstore.

We have the book in the house, but we have way too many books in the house to make me want to just sit down and pick it up. A few people have made the comment that we own a decent small size library, based on the number of books in every genre we have in the house. I probably should sit down and read it, to see what the book is about.
