[glow=purple,2,300]Some say that females wouldn't make a good president because they tend to be more emotional than males and that may interfere when comes to making decisions... What do you all think? [/glow]

Pff, that's a lousy reason. I suppose in general, that's true, but isn't always the case. I mean, I suppose I'm pretty emotional for a guy, and by that reasoning, wouldn't make a good president (I see otherwise, I'd be amazing ). But yeah, I find that people who try to be totally emotionless tend to be jerks, and if you look at the business world, they tend to be emotionless, and now you know what I think about business people. Anyway, I think that that theory was just made by a bunch of mysoginists who are stuck in the stone age and fear losing their unearned advantage.

I dunno. Countries all around the world have female leaders. I think the American Ideal is to have a man in power. I think someone like Hank Hill would kill himself if there were ever a female president. I think Canada had a female PM for a short while... But meh...
Let her try it out. If she fucks up worse than Bush, then, well... We're all fucked.
heh... Female president named Bush...
I am so naughty........
I'll go now...

My point exactly. How much worse can it get? Bush is like the worse ever, so I'm ready for a female. I'm voting for Hillary Clinton when she runs in 2008!!!!

I don't care much for voting.

Yeah, my buddy has an interesting view on voting, more specifically lesser evil-ism. I'm interested to see responses to this. Ok, so you're walking in an alley, and this guy walks up to you. He says: "I'll cut off a finger on your right hand or your entire left hand." What do you do?

Wow, I see my views on the president are different from yours. I don't think Bush is doing so bad, and I'd hate to see Hillary ruling us.

No offense, but the US isn't a monarchy, so no one rules over me. I am not a slave. I'm a free thinker! Unlike what the current administration would have us (American public) believe.

I'm kinda confused. Ok, bapiau, which comment did you love? And Brandie, how did you mean it (I took it the same way, I think) and is anyone going to answer my question ?

I love that I can't make a comment - I'm not American you see I don't think a priminister is quite the same thing. Though we did have Margaret thatcher. Though she made herself seem really masculine *shrug*

Okay, dtm....I'll answer your question quickly before I have to go. . . . .
I would be more willing to lose the finger off of one hand than an entire hand. With or without any certain digit, that hand would still be functional.....much more functional than no hand at all, at least.
That is an odd question though.....what sparked the interest?

Haha, bapiau, I'm not American either, and I still have a lot to say. And yeah, Margaret Thatcher was definitely butch.
Ah, Absinthe, that's the answer he expects. Why not just kick the guy in the groin and run off? He argues that if there are no good options, choose neither, it's still a choice!

I'm not American either but I could answer this question.
Although I don't have much to say on the subject. I doubt America will get a female president ... sadly, it's been dominated by the white male. Maybe one day it will change. Only time will tell.

I think the thing that I would most love to see would be an African-American female as president or any minority for that matter. If American is this whole melting pot of different cultures, then why is only one backgroung represented in the white house. Hell, the descendant - Englishman is becoming more a minority these days, but society here is so screwed up that, terribly enough, it is highly unlikely that anyone who is not a white male with a beneficial (practically wealthy) upbringing will ever be president.........shame really.
Before I die.....I just want to see one minority president...whether that person is a different race or of the female gender, or even of an alternate lifestyle for goodness sake......

Right on! But not Condi....
I think we will see change in America because alot of the older generations are dying out, and so is that mentality that they had. Times are changing, but for some not fast enough. I think anyone can be president, I really do. It's that the rest of America has to catch on. White folks are still the majority in America, and they may feel threatened if a minority, let alone a woman run their beloved 'Merica. I think when the minorities become the majority then America will really have to go with the times, or it won't survive.

first to dtm- i would kick him in the groin then steal his knife... that way if he chose to run after me, I would have the power and tell him he could either have his right hand cut off or a left finger... I'm a grill so if he tried kicking me in the groin, i wouldn't exactly double over, I'd prolly laugh at him second. You cannot screw this country up any more than Bush has already. The white male may become the minority but he will always rule the earth. thats the way it works, sad but true. look at all the depictions of jesus, no matter where you go all over the world what color is he? And if you ask anyone, what color is their god? My husband is Mexican and when we were talking about relgion one day I had to ask him, he responded with white, he no longer has that view because he had never thought about it. I don't want to be the one to say this but if a female or a minority were to come into office, they had better have some awesome body gaurds. I think this country would be better off if we finally had someone of another "race" or the other gender in power, we need a little more emotion in office, its the non emotion that has caused so many to die in a war we should not be fighting.

Thank you for saying that. I think it's sad that in the United States of America, a country that supposedly prides itself in all these liberties we have yet to see a minority of any sort become President. There are so many other countries around the world who have women in power, why don't we?

I don't think anyone is against a female president. People vote for who they like, doesn't matter if he's a he or a she or a black she lesbian who practices occult.

Even if they won the presidency, there are enough out there that are against it that I would be hiding my ass like Osama... seriously... I would totally vote for a female, or a (excuse the term please) person of color... (I don't believe in putting people into "race groups" because we are all human some of us are just darker than others...) or any one as long as I believed that they could change this country for the better...

Who was that that was saying the Bush Admin was making us all beleive we don't have free will? Seriously, what does that even mean? XD
That has the opposite effect. Call it as it is. I'm white, will smith is black, Abu from simpsons is Indian. Big deal. XD By avoiding the words you give more power to them then they actualy have. The problem only arrises when the words are words of disrespect. Someone being black, hispanic, or white isn't disrespectul, it's something they should be damn proud of.
I find it almost disrespectfull to NOT recognize someones racial group. it's like saying "oh sweety, your herritage and background doesn't matter, we're all humans." it takes away a part of a person.
