To all the drawers and sketchers...
Do you/ did you have a major influence of your work? Pablo Picasso was influenced by African Art and was originally inpired by a Fang Sculpture. How about you? Do you remember when was the first time you picked up a pencil, crayon, marker, pen, whatever and drew your first picture? What would you say is your best work, what inspired you to draw it?

My inspiration comes from other peoples work. Things I like, I take and turn into my own. That, or Alex Grey for somethings. I love that guy. He is my favourite artist. Check him out at alexgrey.com

I grew up watching Ray Rayner and I remember he had 2 little girls on his show who could draw amazing things in a short amount of time. I was impressed and jealous so that was my inspiration to learn how to draw like them and become even better. I kept that dream and went to art school and then became a portrait artist for a while.

That's amazing! I'd love to see your work some time! I'm not familiar with Ray Rayner I will have to look it up!

Oh, he was a silly man with a show that was based in Chicago so anyone outside of the area probably never heard of him.
I went ahead and posted one piece on the site here this morning. I prefer my pet portraits as opposed to my people portraits because even though I could achieve a likeness, pets are just easier to do! And more pleasant to look at LOL
