I've come to dread this monosyllabic, monotonous. . .
Routine.
Circling the same point over and over, never quite getting it feeling it loving it regretting it
Smiling fake smiles sending messages always slightly losing it hopeful words heartfelt words
wannabe proclaimations. . .
of love and desire hope and affection life and eternity. . .
I've come to dread this significant, frustrating everyday dance. . .
. . . but we know all the steps by heart, and that's what keeps us going through
this monosyllabic, monotonous
Routine.

wow, I really like this. And it's true how life becomes so routine. We only continue to go through the motions because they are what is familiar.
Good Work!

I like it. Its really easy to relate to because I think every person comes to the point where they just keep repeating things day by day without even thinking about it. It's kinda sad if you think about it. How we can become so unconscious of our very lives. And even when we realize that we are stuck in this routine, what can we do to surpass it. There really doesn't seem like there is much we can do. I suppose the hope that exists is that throughout time routines change little by little, and sometimes drastically, till so many changes have occurred a new routine has taken form. But even then we are stuck in a routine. Truthfully, I don't think a routine is something one can ever escape for even if a new one emerges it is still just as repetitious as the last. For what is life other than a constant repetition of what once was and what will be.
". . . but we know all the steps by heart, and that's what keeps us going through"
That line really explains why we don't take more action than we do to change our routines; we have simply become too accustomed to them. The very fact that it is so repetitious makes it familiar to us, for as people we wish to live with what we are familiar with. To change to world so drastically around us is to leave us stranded, but sometimes to become stranded is to see the world with new eyes till that which was once foreign becomes common. A breath of fresh air. Maybe sometimes the best cure for us is to experience that which we are unfamiliar with even if it may be against our nature.
