I wish the image was a bit clearer. There are some really fine detail lines that were completely lost in the digital transition. I had to photograph it because it was too large to scan, so unfortunately some detail was lost in translation. Anyway, comments are welcome.

WOW! I never would have thought of using a piece of bark. 13 hours... geez - well great job with this, it's a shame that you couldn't scan it due to its size.
Is it possible to scan a part of it so we can see it up close?

Well, the bottom picture is a close-up of part of the drawing. If you look closely, you can see some of the detail lines. I'll upload a larger version of the image (in a link) and see if that helps at all.
Yeah - I was originally planning to spread out the bulk of this over a couple of days, a couple hours each day, but homework from my other classes didn't permit that. So, the night before it was due, I stayed up all night, went through two pots of coffee and managed to finish it with enough time to spare to take a 3 hour nap before classes began for the day. Let's just say, note-taking that day was a brutal hell for my cramped hand. It wouldn't have been so bad, but with contour line drawings, you are technically not supposed to lift your pencil (it is one continuous line). I obviously had to lift my pencil at some points to flex my hand, but if I can get a larger upload, it should show the very faint, very fine lines that connect every line on the page.
Glad you liked it. I've another project due this coming Thursday, so I'll upload pictures of that as well when I can.
