This poem was written at 3:14 AM (at least that's what I wrote at the top of it.
My eyelids are heavy though they refuse to close. A yawn wracks my body as my breathing slows.
As I lie in bed, willing it to come, sweet sleep will not take me before the rising of the sun.
[another yawn. . .another sigh]
My eyelids droop again, only to open up wide. All I want is for sleep to take me, fo in its depths I'll hide.
I'm wide awake again, though tired as can be, for insufferable insomnia has taken over me.

[glow=purple,2,300]i know i go through this sometimes, but for you, i'm thinking it's almost like a ritual. your writing seems very organized, i know i couldn't do the same at 3 in the morn. [/glow]

Ahhh, yes....the sand mand is not very kind, is he? He's a rather nasty ol' bugger in my opinion. lol. Thanks for the comment.

I saw one little typo, but other than that, its really good. I know how insomnia is....it sucks. I hate it when I cant go to sleep, I usually end up reading or scribbling down little random thoughts in a journal....its kinda funny actually some of the things I write because Im so tired, I dont realize what Im writing. Anyway...this is good.

A definite favourite by you for me ... I liked the rhyme scheme and it had some very enjoyable lines. Particularly:
"As I lie in bed, willing it to come, sweet sleep will not take me before the rising of the sun."
