A Dedicated Distraction
Sometimes, I wish I could drown in all the things that didn't matter to me.

Walking downtown, ready to throw food into my stomach. Just walking downtown with my friend and this suddenyl happens then. "Where do you catch the bus?" Where do you catch the bus a girl said to me. She, a blonde; her friend, a brunette. Lost and so simple they seemed. Foreigners they were to this little backwards town. So forth I explained that a bus stop is on every other block. "How do you catch the bus?" How do you catch the bus? Do I dare believe that the brunette ask me such a question? "Do you ring a bell?... Sorry." She shrank back in fear as my 'sister' gave her a set of evil, disbelieveing, disgusted - once again disbeleiving- eyes. Yet the blonde paid no mind to the situation that just occured. Thank you is all she said and walked away. My friend and I did the same, returning on our journey for fast food. But all we could thik about to ourselves was : How do you catch the bus? Do you ring a bell? And my friend broke the silence just in time saying, "No. Take your shirt off at the bus stop and swing it around like hell!" Oh how we mentally collapsed onto the floor and laughed until our tummies hurt.
Yet to think, it was just a normal day in our normal - not so normal - lives.

To be honest, I thought it was lacking ... it seemed more like a bunch of "what the hell was that?" between friends ... I'm actually unsure of how to respond to it. I may revise if I think of something to say ... I'm sorry I have nothing for you.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I liked it until the end. The ending just didn't do it for me. It was set up as though you had some universal, but humourous, truth to impart, and it just wasn't there. If you had maybe set up the ending better, it might have been better.

I think the end really ruined it. i agree it seemed like it was set up to have a punch line but it really didn't...

the humor is there... but i don't think it has the structure as a poem. i think it'd be classified more as a misc. writing. thanks for sharing though. this section is one of the least active ones, i hope to see others participating more soon.
