My Angel Gabriel
Eyes so calm, so serene, Never any hate or malice within them, Endless pools of night, A void of warmth and comfort, Peace.
Skin milk white, As porcelain, Smooth as silk, And just as delicate, Beauty.
Lips warm to the touch, Full and velvety, Red as the most precious rose, And just as perfect, Hope.
Wings of perfect feathers, Hand crafted by a perfect god, Gold, both strong and fragile, To lift me when needed, Vengeance.
An ethereal body, Solid and yet sheer, Made of light so bright, That it is spectacular to behold, Faith.
You are my angel, My necessity My protector, My savior, My angel, Gabriel.

Not bad. It's really sweet.
"Wings of perfect feathers, Hand crafted by a perfect god,"
Now, I'm not one to be impressed with mention of God in such a way, but it would be sweet to say for someone who's into that.

See the thing is, I'm not into God, and I use the capital G as in the one God. Its not really my thing, religion. I havent gone to church in years, and I was never baptized or any of that. I'm not trying to be insulting and I dont mean to offend anyone, but I'm not so sure I believe in God. I do however believe that there are angels. They dont necessarily have to serve God, but I think they exist, thus the poem.

Although this isn't really my type of poem, it was well written and I liked the added strong word at the end of the stanzas.
"Skin milk white, As porcelain"
--love the simile and description here. Well done.

God is what you perceive it to be. A force a power a being? a man a woman a child? A Caucasian a Mexican an African? Who knows? not I. It is a belief, a safe haven, a way to calm yourself, an explanation to unanswered questions about why we are the way we are... That is my firm belief. Angels are guiding lights to help us through the bad and good times and let us know life will be ok in the end. Slowing us down when in a hurry before we pass a cop so we don't get pulled over, speeding us up when not in a hurry as we pass a cop to teach us lifes little lessons... they watch over us, the good, the bad, the evil and the saint. I'm done now. Lol. Anyways. great work Nessy.
