A series of skills, gifts and abilities, if not actual personal inclinations and character traits, which add or remove something very important - and very subtle - to a profile. They are called soft skills because, unlike hard skills, i.e. the technical skills we have acquired in our career, they are within us and cannot really be taught. Rather, they can develop and improve as they grow and mature over time. The word soft – this idea of soft, delicate, both to the touch and to the pronunciation – conveys the intangible data of these skills very well. Their being ethereal but no less present; the ability to be intrinsic and subtle, almost an integral part of a person; their apparently hiding and coming out when the situation is serene, calm, comfortable, or vice versa, ruinously breaking into stressful.
soft-skills-communicator A scene from the film "The Orcs' Paradise" in which DX Leads the protagonist is a scapegoat for a living. What soft skills should someone who works in communications have Every job, every job position, every profession has its own soft skills (apart from empathy, which goes well with everything). It is difficult, or at least problematic, to imagine a manager without leadership skills , just as it could be very annoying for a tour guide to suffer from agoraphobia, or to think of opening up to a psychologist with little tact. Those who communicate for work should possess, or at least perfectly master, not only their own language and style, but also some skills that will make life easier for them personally but also - and above all - for those who have to interact with them.
This is even more true for those who communicate on the web, where in addition to the obvious obstacle of having to use the medium (social media, email, blog) , which sets and imposes limits and virtues, there is also the difficulty of communicating in a chaos of instant messages and passengers. And if by mistake, the wrong sentence or the wrong subjunctive ends up in your press release (oops!), you will suddenly awaken the keyboard lions ready to turn against you. A short decalogue There are some things that those who work in the communications field, whatever it is, should never ignore and skills that should definitely be cultivated. Knowing how to listen : why do we always forget that communicating means communicating.
