I have loads of writing utensils...however, I have not found a particular favorite yet myself.

I am a writing utensil noob so I don't know the correct terms for them. But for me, any "inky" pen is a favourite. I think we call them gel pens but I always think of gel pens as the colourful ones that kids use to colour pictures with.

Yes, I so do. I actually have a couple of different pens that I favor depending on what I'm doing. I like the Sharpie S-Gel Medium .7 black ink pens for work. For journaling/poetry writing, I tend to favor either the Zebra G-301 gel clicky pens or the Uni-Ball ECO fine tips both in black and completely dependent on which journal I'm using. If I'm writing in a composition book (generally story-writing/planning), I tend to favor the TUL Rollerball Fine or Medium tip pens, also in black. I have a few felt-tips or other Sharpie S-Gel pens in Red for when I'm editing.
