I think it's important to have good rapport with your boss. It certainly makes a job more enjoyable when you're not feeling like your superior is out to get you.

My bosses are so focused on "winning" they completely disregard the fact that our associates are all human. We are extremely successful and consistently exceed planned profits/membership execution, but it is never good enough unless we're #1. Then, when we have been #1, it becomes a need to stay on top. It makes our lives far more stressful than they need to be because of some meaningless, cheap trophy they want to claim.

Still haven't met my boss in person since I started my job during the lockdown. But I really do get along with him. He's great, very supportive and always there to help.

I enjoyed my first boss, a stuck up someday but came with the job. Hated most of my bosses in retail, I was cool with one, I'd buy him a drink if I saw him at a bar. Didn't stay at my call center job long enough to get a good reading on her. Love my last position boss, on our review meetings we just talk about video games My current position boss seems cool, though she is so busy I can't get a good read on her yet.

If you guys rank higher then they may earn more? Doesn't it make it anymore ok but surely there are better ways to motivated you guys than a trophy. Sounds like you've had your share of jobs. I think that's great that for the most part you got on well with your bosses.
