New Me?

with each passing breath i fade a little bit more bending and blending into the woodwork contorting and curling from the inside out into a feral, fetal position
with each second ticking by like lightyears on the face of a clock i shatter piece by piece the world watches in amazement as my ball drops
[Ten]
there goes the outer shell
[Nine. . . Eight. . . Seven]
cutting deeper now
[Six. . . Five]
disintegrating quickly
[Four. . . Three]
raw and bleeding
[Two]
metamorphosis
[One]
so this is the new me?

I really really like the countdown effect, its cool. When reading it, I begin to look forward to the new year, was that something you were trying to symbolize with the ball dropping, or am i just crazy?

No, you aren't crazy. I was actually listening to the song "New Year" by Death Cab for Cutie while writing this. I must admit, I took little hints of inspiration from it.

I really like this poem. It is beautifully written and I love the countdown effect in it. When it ended I was all like awww, it's over. Nice Job. I like it alot.
