Does anyone else use Slack within their organization? I never knew why companies rely on Slack for internal communications. Now I can't imagine going through the workday without it.

Yeah, it's our main method of communication for internal people. It's very useful and a lot easier than having to send someone an email especially since we now work from home. I love that you can set a status too since people will know if you're out or if you're on your lunch break.

We use Teams at my work, never used Slack myself.

We actually use both but Teams just for big video meetings with colleagues or clients. The instant messaging aspects of Teams just isn't as good as Slack, unfortunately.

I agree, Teams can lag and be bad. What makes Slack so much better?

Just feels a lot quicker especially with the UI. The instant messaging aspect is great because you can quickly send images and files to whoever you need to talk to. And then you can quickly call them too.

Teams can be quick, until you get into a large group gathering.

I think Slack is good for 1-1 chats whereas Teams is a lot better when you have a few people wanting to join a call.
