I worked as a 'Scooper' for a Ben & Jerry's shop when I was a Sophomore in high school. It was actually a lot of fun! Working there really opened up palette for ice cream flavors. I used to only go for chocolate prior to working there.
What was your first job? What did you like about it?

Janitor at a local pharmacy, not the best job but was easy and within the walking distance.

I was 14 years old and I worked in a fruit and vegetable stand on the highway for 12 hours a day. I did it for 2 years over the summer break. The wealthy farmer didn't pay us very well, so we all ended up keeping some of the money that we took in daily. lol

Depends which one we count I guess. My current job as an accessibility consultant is the first, proper one I have had. But I have previously worked online posting gaming articles for someone on the Hive Gamurs site.

My first "job" was mucking out stalls on a rescue farm, though I didn't actually get paid for it. It was a volunteer thing when I was 12-13. The first paid job I ever had was babysitting and then I waitressed at a Pizza Hut as soon as I turned 16.

Must have had some fun being a server at Pizza Hut.

I worked as a babysitter for the people across the street when I was 14 and made $1 an hour. They used me for a few years until they moved away and my mom never let me turn them down since they didn't have a lot of money and both worked. But I felt taken advantage of since they would work and then go out and I was there for 12 hours and only made $12. It was hard for a teenager.

$1 is a crazy amount to pay for someone. That's absurd really and I feel like they were happy to just take advantage of you. Your mum had good intentions but the neighbours really should have paid you more.

I could understand if it was to watch them while at work but just to go out? Yeah, they took advantage of you in a bad way.

I started as a journalist apprentice when I was still college. I filed newspapers clippings and magazines. I took notes, typed articles and manuscripts and proof read manuscripts. I was paid $1 per hour. Despite being poor payment it really helped me to earn pocket money when I did not have any income source.

After I graduated, I worked factory jobs. My first one was a Temp job doing collating on 1st shift. After I realized I could work 2nd shift, I asked the Temp Agency to find me those. I preferred factory work as it reminds me of forums lol You get to know the people on your shift, especially when you are a second-shifter & the "office people" are gone. It becomes a close-knit community.
