How many times have you told yourself you're going to clean the house and you end up not finishing or getting tired? Here is a technique that I've been practicing and it's been working out really well. Every day I clean/organize something in the house and I limit myself to 10 minutes for that task. By the end of the week that's 70minutes that I did not have to spend on my day off. =) I've been trying to encourage my husband to do the same. ...that would be 140 minutes together if we can collaborate on this weekly challenge!

This is a great tip, I'll make sure to keep this in mind! I find that if you keep to a semi-rigid schedule and don't let your laziness take over, you really get a lot more done. I really need to start doing this in my life. It's so stressful when you cram all of your chores into one small time period once a month or so. Have you found that your house is a lot cleaner?

Yes I do find that my house is generally cleaner. I'm not freaking out when someone says they're coming over and do a speed cleaning because I don't want them thinking we live like slobs. lol It also minimizes the stress in not being able to find something or not knowing if we have this or that.

Good to see others doing a similar thing. My approach is not exactly 10 mins and is applicable to more than just cleaning. Helps me manage my time more effectively.

Biggest thing here with doing a 10 minute cleanup, is that even without kids under the age of 12 not in the house, those that do live here end up trashing the place pretty fast, and a 10 minute daily job doesn't always do the trick for the day.

I'm a homemaker so I'm always cleaning Okay, not always but there's always something to be done around the house and I sort of have a schedule I like to stick to for some parts.

Being a type A perfectionist my home never gets dirty or messy. So house cleaning is a breeze as there is never much to do.

I managed to get myself to focus one thing each weekend, kitchen on one weekend, bathroom the next, ect.

That's actually quite a cool trick/tip and I might have to give it a try. We've usually just done what Demon has done and focused on one area of the house at a time.

ten minutes sounds good, but there is something left undone and forced to be look at until the next 10 mins.
