Hi, my name is Dan. I saw your forum on Proboards support. I've been into graphic and web design since I was 12, I have nearly 9 years of experience now and I want to take it to the next level and to start building some quality, high traffic websites. I hope I can establish a good relationship with this community to get the help I need and make some friends with similar interests.
I'm on skype if anybody here wants to chat, just add me and shoot me a message. My username is Dancrsto

Welcome to SD, Dan! What types of graphic design do you do? Primarily web design or do you dabble in other ventures as well?

Thanks Welcome to SD, Dan! What types of graphic design do you do? Primarily web design or do you dabble in other ventures as well? I started out in the very beginning with things like banners and signatures, then got into forum design and other web page designs in my early teens. I got a bamboo tablet and I'm trying to learn how to draw well with that. :]

How do you like it so far? Which one do you have? Last time I looked into them they ranged anywhere from $100 - $200.

Wow, I just did a quick research it looks like it's running for $64.95 right now plus tax. It's crazy how technology changes so fast and how fast the value depreciates over time doesn't it? Anyway, I look forward to seeing your work Dan!

Thanks. And yes I agree technology is quite different now, I also have the Galaxy Note 8 and it's impressive as well even though it can't be used with a computer monitor, but it uses a stylus that's a lot shorter and smaller than with a bamboo tablet. Still, I'm guessing all these androids/ipads that have came out have probably forced the draw tablets to decrease in price so that they can still compete ^^'

Yes, good point about the tablets...I don't think the ipads or other tablets can work like the bamboo though for a dedicated designing tool. I'm currently trying to learn how to manipulate photos to make them look even better...haven't quite grasped that yet though as I am really wanting to capture awesome cityscapes/landscapes.
What program(s) do you like to use?

I like drawing with my bamboo tablet on Flash, I'm not necessarily making animations but MMFlash 8 does a good job of correcting line work which it does so automatically. If you're interested in manipulating photos, though, I'll always suggest Photoshop ;D it's simply the best How about you? What do you like using?

Actually photoshop is my preferred program =) I've never tried MMFlash, it sounds cool though. Hopefully you'll share some of your work with us, our Digital Arts section can't have too many
