ok so I thought I would go ahead and post this story, wrote it in my phone a long time ago and haven't messed with it since. This is the whole story though, it just leaves off like that lol
Freshly cut grass filled my nose followed by the warmth of the sun beaming down on me. My bed was hard yet cushioned with rich green blades of grass. I fought to wake up, straining to force the drowsy away and find a source of water to cure my after nap symptom.
My head was propped up, moving up and down with a familiar rhythm. I heard the thump thump of a steady heartbeat lulling me to listen longer. I searched my memory seeking the events that lead me to laying in a field with a body beside me.
An arm soothed my shoulder, as if sensing my discomfort. A slight breeze picked up the loose strands of hair and spread them across my face. Though the slight shade was welcomed, the tickling was not. Fingers swept them away, resting at the side of my face, cupping my cheek.
"Are you awake?" a familiar voice asked. He peeked down at my face, taking in the moment.
"Maybe..." i said playfully, remembering where and who I was with. I raised my head and rested my chin on his chest. He smiled at me scrunching up his face as my chin dug into his skin.
"I was beginning to think you would sleep forever at the rate you were going" he laughed slightly suggesting I move to rest on his shoulder. He rested his head back on his palm and continued to watch the sky.
"Well you squirm a lot more than you think and you’re not exactly as fluffy as a pillow" I teased staring up at the clouds with him.
"Sorry for not being a three hundred pound hairy bald man" he chuckled. I lightly punched him in the side grinning at our inside joke. He was quite the opposite I thought, turning to my side I stared at his chin for a moment. Small prickly brown hairs stretched from his upper lip to his chin circling his mouth with a small patch right below the bottom lip. It was one of the many things I loved about him. He was slim and tall like me, only he had more muscle mass, not like a body builder but enough to encourage me to run my fingers over his chest and stomach.
"what are you thinking," he asked watching with his eyes. He had always been good at reading my emotions.
"How you’re NOT a three hundred pound man" I pouted. He laughed and pushed out his stomach as much as he could, only a small bump shown through his black shirt. He rubbed it gently pretending it was a baby, then huffed the pinned up air into my face.
"Well you’re not exactly overweight and unattractive like I usually go for myself," he grinned a crooked smile.
"That makes one of us," I chuckled. He grunted and turned over quickly, pinning me beside him, his fingers dug into my sides, tickling my ribs. I screamed, kicked, laughed, thrashed around but he continued to tickle with a fierce goal in mind. When he stopped my hair was tossed in my face, I lay on my side desperately trying to protect my betraying sides, rubbing the aches while stifling a giggle.
"You should have worn something besides black and white," he said wiping away the pieces of grass from my back. I wore a white shirt under a black shirt and dark blue jeans, my famous dude clothes as he put it. I could see him watching me adjust myself, fixing my pants and shirt, tying the mess atop my head in a bun.
He pulled me next to him and laid back against the ground, complaining about the moment ending too soon. A sweet scent drifted towards us, the mixture of flowers in the field surrounding us created a haven. The sun began to set however and cold crept upon us quicker than we anticipated.
The sun was beautiful, took my breath away when it finally met the horizon. Orange and purple smeared across the sky, yellow illuminating vibrant colors wedged between the bright streams. He leaned over and kissed me, a sweet kiss with a sunset to remember. His hands released the bun and combed my black hair, one of his favorite things about me. We lingered, then broke apart, our kiss ended but the sun continued to descend.
If I had known this would be the last time I would see him, I would have begged him to stay with me just a little longer...
