Prologue
Her eyes, her beautiful brown hair around her like an angel. Tyler looked at her, his pale blue eyes with unusual red flecks in them. Tyler watched the girl, from a nearby tree. The vampire looked at her, watching from the darkness. He watched the lone girl, waiting for the right moment to attack. Looking around, no one was in sight. He jumped down from the large oak tree, and walked over.
“Hello” His dark voice talked to the brunette.
The girl whipped around, looking at the boy. “Oh, Hi.” The girl said.
Tyler walked up to her, close to her. His fangs were touching the inside of lips. He licked his lips. He had been around long enough to know that he would have to make sure she either didn't remember anything, or he killed her. For him, she would most likely not see tomorrow. That was just the kind of vampire that he was. He couldn't control his thirst, his hunger for the blood of humans. Tyler was once human, in the 1870s of course. He knew that day well, the day he died.
No more then 17 years old, his light pink skin glowed in the moonlight. Tyler being himself, walking alone. He was in no particular way, or in any amount of time to go anywhere. Not one of his best plans of course. He was walking down the dirt road from his job, and h was attacked by a group. They all surrounding him, closing in on him like a pack of wild animals. Like he was prey, and they were the the hunting. He watched them come closer to him, all had red eyes glowing in the fair lit road. He felt one male grab his neck, he cursed out loud and felt another pain in his other side of his neck. The others just laughed as they watched him drain of his blood. Soon the vampires switched. Tyler, not having much blood left fell to the ground, he watched as one blonde girl, his own blood around her mouth lean closer to him. He flinched and his muscles froze. He watched the girl as she bend down to where he was in the rood and lean over to his neck. He could feel someone bend his head the other way, relieving the countless amount of wounds in his neck. He felt her bite him, he gasped again. He was weak. The blonde injected her bite into him. He would slowly turn into a vampire himself. After the girl pulled away from him, his body couldn't sit him up much longer and he fell, hitting his head into the dirt. 'your to be one of us soon.” The blonde's voice said, in a sweet tone.
“Can I help you?” The brunette asked him, looking at him like he was just another guy that was lost or something.
“Yes, actually you can.” Tyler said, before he took his hand around her mouth and leaned over to her neck. Pushing his white fangs into her warm flesh. Her blood was so warm, it warmed his cold mouth and throat. He smiled a bit, and drank her blood more. The girl didn't scream, just gasped and fell into him. He was one of those vampire that had something else, not just a normal vampire. He would not only drain the blood from his victims, but there life too.
Moments later, he pulled away from her, her eyes blank. She would life, for a while. Maybe 20 more years if she was lucky. He placed her on a cold bench and sighed. He would need to stop with the life draining, but it was the only way that he would be able to walk around. He needed life, like he needed blood. He had to have it to survive.
Tyler looked at her, before turning himself around and walking away.
He was draining nor only her blood, but her life.
Chapter 1 This isn't your normal day?
Tyler crawled out of his bed. Yes his bed. He never slept in coffins or anything silly like that. But he had known vampires in Austria that had. They were rather nice bunch of vampires too. He rubbed his blue eyes, the red from the night before gone. He looked like a normal teenage boy. He didn't feel like one. Heart forever still, body frozen in time.
“TYLER JAMES ARE YOU UP?” He heard his adopted mother call from the other side of the door of there large 4 bedroom apartment. Yes, adopted mother. His real mother died almost 120 years ago. He looked old enough to be on his own, but of course he was only allowed to be on his own if he was 18, which he would never be.
“Yes, Ma'am. I am.” He said, his voice low and faking rather well as if he just woke up.
“Good. You have school in an hour. Start to get ready to go T.J” She said.
Tyler looked at the door. He didn't want to go to school. Every time someone was found dead or almost dead from blood loss, it was the talk of the school. Being a senior, he has to deal with everyone talking about it. Of course, he was only one of the few 7 that were actually vampires. Of course, they were not as old as he was, and they all knew each other. When Tyler moved to Boston, everything in there group was different. They were now dealing with a vampire that was much older then they were.
Tyler got dressed out of his green boxers and pulled on black boot-cut jeans with a black sweatshirt on. He walked out of his room, and down the stairs. He blinked at his mother, who looked at him. “Where were you last night?” She asked.
“Out.” He said calmly. He never told her that he was a vampire, she was much to human to know. She was what you call a typical mother. Hearing 3 more sets of feet run down the wood stairs he watched his brothers and sister run by to sit at the table. Anna Marie, the youngest who was 5. Then there was Ashley, he was only 15 and his twin brother Joey. Joey was into drugs already, while Ashley was one of the few that stayed out of all that kind of things.
Ashley and Joey were also adopted, and no one knows why Ashley was named that. But he would go as Ash and would beat the crap out of anyone that called him by his full name. Except Tyler though. Ash was smart and wouldn't pick a fight with his brother. Joey would though, all the drugs that he did would go to his brain killing all the cells; and would get the crap beaten out of him every time.
“Good Morning Ty.” Anna said to him, then waving her small pink hand. The blond girl was the only child that wasn't adopted. She was adorable for a 5 year old. Blonde hair, shining green eyes. Tyler actually liked his sister. She never was in his business or anything. He didn't mind that she called him Ty. He went by Tyler, Ty or T.J.
“Morning Anna.” Tyler said. Tyler took an apple of the table, and bit into it. He had to eat, to make him seem normal. Though, he would usually just end up letting it sit in his stomach for a while.
The twins started to fight over who got the cereal first. Tyler reached his arm over the table and took it from them. “You fight, neither of you get it. Anna did you want this cereal?” He said. The blond girl nodded. He poured her a bowl full and looked at the twins. “Ashley, then Joey alright?” He said, his voice threatening. Both nodded and he handed it to Ashley.
Tyler looked at the clock, then at everyone else. “Well, I'm off.” He said. “Ash, Joey hurry up if you don't wanna be late for school.” He said. Being in the same school as them was a plus for them. They had Tyler drive them to school every morning. Both boys gulped down their food and ran after him. Tyler towered over them, and they looked at him.
“Ready” The twins said at the same time.
Tyler looked at them. His face expressionless. He just turned around, and started to head for the door. School would be the most boring-est day ever. He didn't like school partly because he has graduated so many times before. He was suppose to head off the college in the next year or so, but he knew that he would end up moving to a different state and changing his name, or something like that.
Tyler walked out into the December cold, and the snow fell into his hair. The twins were not far behind him. He walked around the Jeep, and climbed into the drivers seat. He looked at the twins as they started to fight over who was to sit in the back.
“You know what? I'm not going to deal with this today. Your both in the back, and if I hear a complaint about it, you'll both be dead. Got it?” Tyler said. Both boys had there brown and blue eyes wide.
“Yes sir.” Ash said, before tucking his dirty blonde hair out of his blue eyes. Joey just looked at him, ran a hand threw his blonde and blue hair. They both mumbled something, and climbed into the back of the jeep. They sat very quietly and stayed like that till they got to the High school. As soon as Tyler parked the car, both boys were out of the jeep and took off at full speed. A yell of “See ya later T.J” Was heard, probably Ash.
Tyler just watched them till they were out of his sighed. He pulled his black hood up, and got out of the car. He grabbed his bag and shut the door. He turned around to walk into the building.
Chapter 2 Oh come on!
Tyler stood at his locker, opening the lock and pulling out his books from his bag. He heard the cheerleaders who were talking maybe 5 feet from him, talking about him. Being a vampire, all of his senses were enlightened. He heard part of their conversation.
“Yeah. Some girl, was found with marks in her neck on a bench in the middle of the park last night. Someone said that a boy was with her and he kissed her neck and she fell into him.” One said. “Seriously?”
“Yeah. I bet it was vampire. Everyone knows that they are real. The can't go into sunlight, and they have to drink blood. Oh, and they leave marks like the ones that were found in the girl's neck. They were only about an inch apart. Like a bite mark. At least that's what the news said.”
“I bet it was someone in school. There are plenty of dark people that would be suspects for us.”
“You mean like him?” One asked, pointing to him.
“Who is he?” The blonde asked, turning her head to look at Tyler.
Pretending to hear then, Tyler turned his head to look at them, blinking his pale eyes. They looked at him. The taller, brunette waved at him, smiling at him a bit. Before she was glared at by the blond cheerleader next to her. Tyler looked at them. “Who are you?” The snotty blonde girl asked.
“What's it to you?” He asked, in a rude tone.
“We just want to know..” The red head asked, in a very shy tone. She was obviously shy, but she blinked her brown eyes like nothing was wrong.
“Shut up Angie.” The blonde said, glaring at Angie like she was nothing more then air.
Angie looked at her, and made a face at the blonde. The blonde didn't seem to notice the girl's attempt . “So, who are you?” The blonde asked again, more rude and snot nosed then before.
“Nicole, shut up and be nice. Or He'll never tell you his name.” The brunette said.
“Amanda, shut up. He'll tell us. Trust me.” Nicole said.
Tyler was fed up with them already. He wanted to kill Nicole. She was such a snobby bitch. And everyone knew it. Tyler turned back to his locker, and grabbed his books. He felt a tap on his shoulder and his turned his head. He looked around to see his only two friends. Abby and Nathan.
Abby has long black hair with purple streaks, and bright green eyes. She wore her hair around and in her face ans she was one of his best friends. Nathan on the other hand has bleach blonde hair, and has black glasses that covered his brown eyes. Nathan was like a brother to him. And Abby was like his sister. The thing was, they were all vampires.
“Hey. That cheerleader is looking at you.” Abby said, her voice was sweet. Nathan just nodded. He pushed the glasses up on his nose.
“I know.” Tyler said.
“Heard about the girl, Ty. You know you can't keep doing that to humans.” Nathan said, brushing his blonde hair from his eyes. He looked at him. Abby cut in before he could say anything.
“You can't go alone anymore if you keep doing this. You know that we have to stay out of the spotlight.” She said. Tyler looked down at his feet.
“I know. But it was the middle of the night... and I wasn't sure if I should have called you or not..” He explained.
“Ty. Were just like you. We would go with you. Your our best friend, and your there when we need you. And we're there for you.” Nate said.
“I know.” He said.
Abby smiled at him and kissed his cheek. Ty knew that Abby loved him, but it was more of a sister love then a crush love.
“Your just like my little brother that's all.” Abby said.
“But I'm older then you. By a good 70 years.” He said.
“I know, but still.” Abby said.
Nate, being a nerd that he was, looked at the time. “bell rings in a minute.” He said. Tyler and Abby just rolled their eyes. The bell rang.
“Let's go and get this day over with.” Tyler said. Abby looked at him. Her green eyes had red in them. She had obviously not feed in a while. “Abby.” Tyler said as they walked away from Nate. Nate was in a different homeroom as Abby and Tyler, but they were all in AP classes.
“ I know. I know. I need to go out tonight. But...” Abby trailed off. Her green and red eyes looking at him, pleading. “You know I can't control myself.” She said.
“You have better control then I do. And I'm 139.” He said. He brushed her hair out of her face. Everyone asked if they were a couple, but they weren't. Tyler had not loved anyone since he was actually 17. He still thought of her. Claire. She was the sweetest girl in 1870. She was his best friend, and he loved her. He had watched her forget about him, and marry someone else and die. He hated watching her die.
“I know....Ty? Are you paying attention to me?” Abby asked.
“Huh? Sorry. I wasn't listening. I'm sorry.” He said.
“I know. Its alright. Let's just go.” She said, taking his hand and pulling him into the room.
“Tyler, Abby. Your here. I was just about to mark you absent.” Greg said. No one really called Greg by his last name, and he went by Greg as it was. They both just waves and sat down in the back. They started to talk, just as the bell rang. They both just sighed. Getting up, it was going to be a long 4 blocks before lunch.
