This was also an assignment, but for English, not creative writing. It had to be about a character from To Kill a Mockingbird, as if that character was speaking from the grave. It's the only decent poem I've ever written; poetry isn't exactly my forté. The reaper came and stole my soul A year ago tomorrow The incident was quite belated So absent was my sorrow
My life itself was dark and lonesome Secluded in my eerie dwelling Excepting, though, the dead of night Which served as my restless' quelling
Now my body's 'neath a tombstone While my spirit roves the Earth This isn't different from my life Searching for eternal mirth

" The incident was quite belated So absent was my sorrow" --interesting, I really liked this. The rhyme didn't seem forced at all and not predictable. Good job
