[glow=black,2,300] Has anyone else seen The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? I went to see it Friday after school with a group of friends. It was a really great movie.[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] Haha...yeah. My dad gave me the entire collection of the books last month as an early Christmas gift. I was about ready to buy it for myself, so he just broke down and gave it to me. The movie was absolutely fantastic. [/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]that's really really cool. my mom just got back from Massachusetts today and my brothers&sister-in-laws sent their christmas gifts for the family. the airport people had to open all the gifts for "safety purposes" and thank us for "being understanding" for the mess they had left behind. my Mom told my Dad to rewrap all the presents. anyway... back to the movie.
would you recommend reading the books before watching The Chronicles of Narnia? or does it really matter?[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] It doesn't really matter. They do a great job with the movie (it was smart to chose Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe to make into film). You can easily understand it without ever having read the book series and it is a wonderful movie either way.[/glow]

I want to collection so badly. I guess I'll have to shell out my own money for it because my parents are almost finished my holiday shopping, they say.

i have not watched the movie yet but I have read the collection. My grandma read it to me as a night time story when I was little, but I wanted to reread it before I watched the movie. I had to do some digging but I found the set from when I was little... kinda a little nostalgic feeling going on there back in the day when I had no responsibilities, I didn't even have to read for myself. lol.

I've seen both. I have to say that while I loved the action scenes of the newer version, I'm more of a fan of the originals. I feel that they stuck closer to the direction of the books than the new one.

I've seen the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I've also seen Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I went to the movie theater the day each one of them came out and I also own each of them on DVD. I read the books before the movie came out and I thought they've done a pretty good job making the movies. I mean, they've met my expectations anyway (don't know about anyone else).
If I'm not mistaken, I think the guy that owns the rights to make the movies past away after Voyage of the Dawn Treader came out and that's why they haven't made anymore of the movies. I guess they're trying to figure out who is going to own the movies now that that guy pasted away. I don't know if he has a wife or children that will take over for him (since I figured it would get passed down to them) or if the family will decide to sell the rights to someone else. I don't know. I just heard that the guy that owned the movies rights died (or that's what I heard).
I'd like to know if they're going to make the other books into movies, especially before the kids get to old. Does anyone else know if the other books will be made into movies?
