[glow=black,2,300]gone in 60 seconds, no contest! haha im not even completely sure why actually.. but i can quote more than half of that film, and well Angelina Jolie and Nicolas Cage are my favourite actor and actress.. in the same film! and well... noone can argue with that many amazing fast expensive and flashy cars! i like all films... anything good .. generally though i tend to watch mainly thrillers.. i like to get scared.. but very few films have ever successfully achieved that with me because i'm too skeptical.. so when theres a twist to the story or it messes with my head i like that. i'm not really into horror, i just find it boring most of the time.[/glow]

Everyone knows Labyrinth has been my favorite movie since I was 7 and I can repeat the lines at any given moment! My favorite movies are fantasy because they open my mind and I always feel more creative after I see a fantasy movie.

My favorite movie is "The Phantom of the Opera" and "National Treasure". I usually like all movie genres, but I would have to say my favorite is romantic comedy. (I'm aware my genre does not go with either of those movies!

Interesting tidbit Sharon. I love all genres of movie. I am a movie fanatic. My all time favorite though would probably be either The Breakfast Club or I Am Sam. Both are fantastic movies.

I love the classic horror movies...those are the best. Like the original 1930's version of Dracula and the black and white versions of House on Haunted Hill, The Haunting, and 13 Ghosts. The old zombie movies are great too. I love th Night of the Living Dead (and its sequals). The Friday the 13th ones were good too, as well as Nightmare on Elm Street (and its sequals...lol). Lets see, the Ring was a good newer one and Texas Chainsaw Massacre is fantastic ina gory sort of way (new and old versions). The Exorcists scared the crap out of me, but the sequal sucked, as did the prequal. Amittyville Horror was great. I think its the only horror movie where I prefer the remake.
As for pure slasher flicks, my absolute favorite "slasher flick" of all time would be the Scream trilogy. They are great.....not scary at all, but fantastic in a witty and sarcastic sort of way. Um, I also liked Urban Legands (though the sequals were poorly done) and Cursed, and Hide and Seek, and pretty much anything Wes Craven (Freddy Cruger is his fantastic creation) or Alfred Hitchock (The Birds was soooo great) and even some Stephen King ones are good (Sleepwalkers, IT, Pet Semmetary [1 and 2]).
Anywho.....as you can see, I adore horror movies. Horror/Slasher/Thriller is probably my absolute favorite genre. I love it.

I tend to like a good comedy, or drama. I like all the really stupid comedies (American Pie, Wedding Crashers, Harold and Kumar etc.), but I also like movies like Goodbye Lenin and The Assassination of Richard Nixon. It really just depends on my mood. I'm not too much for horror and that. I found The Ring kinda...stupid, I dunno.

I like movies with little people in them, Wizard of Oz, Legend, and Willow are among my top 5... then anyting with Johnny Depp... yes even the new charlie and the chocolate factory... anything with Nicholas Cage.. .and yes Sharon I did know that... it was on this documentray thingy that i watched once ummm... Shrek 1 and 2... Most all Disney movies, and I like to watch Lifetime Originals and ABC family originals, even though they are cheap and cheesy... I am a sucker for a good romance. And once a year my best friend in the world, Annie and I, rent all the scary movies in the movie rental place, go to her parents house get into her moms really comfy bed turn off all the lights and have a scary movie marthon... its the only time I will willingly watch a scary movie... and when i say scary i dont mean like scream and i know what you did last summer, I mean like Texas Cahinsaw Massacres and Wrong Turn... and Darkness falls... btw we live in a small town and live out by people who remind us of the people in both those movies... which is why they scare us... ... and we like the ones that have slightly true plots...

[glow=purple,2,300]i saw the "Titanic" again a couple of weeks ago. i had never realized just how sad that movie was. i'll admit it, i did shed a couple of tears in a few parts. The last time i saw that movie i was in... the 5th grade i think? ...and back then, i didn't really care much about the movie [/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] Titanic is a great epic film, albeit a little sappy. I mean, it had great acting, sets, and a script that was well written. The thing about that movie that bothered me most was all of the mistakes. There were sooo many errors in it: flashes of the camera-crew reflected in glass, a few continuity things, and a ton of historical misreferences.
For example:
when Jack kisses Rose's hand before going to diner in 1st class, he says "I saw that on the Nickelodian and I always wanted to do it" - the Nickelodian was a radio show that didn't even become popular until after the Titanic sank, so it would have been impossible for him to have "seen" it on the Nickelodian .
The lake that Jack told Rose he went ice fishing on when she was threatening to jump is Lake Wissota, a man-made lake in Wisconsin near Chippewa Falls (where Jack grew up). The lake was only filled with water in 1918 when a power company built a dam on the Chippewa River, six years after the Titanic sank.
Rose mentions Austrian psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud's ideas on the male preoccupation with size to Bruce. However this is 1912, and Freud did not publish the work relating to this until 1920 in "The Pleasure Principle." Also, up until 1919, Freud relied solely on data from females
It's just little things like that that bug me about a movie. Titanic would have been a good movie, were it not for it's over 100 errors. [/glow]

The funny part? I'm planning on minoring in psychology when I go to Uni next year. I know I way overanylize a lot of things, but movies are my forte. I love the nit-picky things like noticing that between shots, the purse strap switches shoulders or somebody's shirt if situated differently. That's where a lot of my enjoyment comes from watching movies.....that and all the other technical stuff. lol [/glow]

There's many that are my favorite. At the top of my head is The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis from 1997. I've seen it several times & it's good for a laugh. Yes, kinda dorky in some ways but it also helps us not take ourselves too seriously in life.

Does the glow BBcode not work anymore? It's interesting to see the old posts with it not working lol.
This is a bit of a hard one because there are so many good ones. I would probably have to go for the Interview though. Very funny and has a great cast.
