Here's a couple of short poems. I decided to try oneword.com and it was kind of fun. I never knew it existed until I came here and kept seeing people using it. The first two are from oneword.com (I just used the word for the title), the others are just short poems I wrote for no reason.
Purple
your shades are beautiful
sinking into your lips
I wish I had more moments with you
more moments like this
but you fade into the background
you fade with the light
and I will never have you
against my lonely nights.
2005
Sketch
and a painting with a paint brush two times his size, he paints a portrait of his love. A love dying of shame. Should he be the one to bring her joy, to bring her pain?
he paints a portrait of his love, sketches her features from head to toe. A love dying of a disease. Should he be her hope, her dreams?
2005
Underground Lullaby
lazy anger
walking in the words
every tongue memories crying hearts
time folding faces
failing everyone
I shall stain pain
and admire ignorance
to become nothing
but a short lived breath
on dying lips
2005
Underbelly
we are under a sheltered bridge
crying out of place
they who dare, walk in front
as we just hear every breath
and their tongue pressed hard against their cheek -
their burning cheek
fleshed with anger and disappointment
failing to forgive
not wanting to recognize mistakes of others
could have been their mistake
and the underbelly of this all
rages through the strong
but sparks ignite even in the weakest of souls
they who dare, walk in front -
we just hear every breath.
