Released: May, 15, 2007 Record Label: Sanctuary
You may be familiar with Dolores O'Riordan as the former lead of The Cranberries with their hit songs such as "Dreams", "Linger", and "Zombie. The former front woman is back in the music business on her own - fully ready to hit the airwaves. The Album titled, "Are You Listening" starts off with "Ordinary Day" - a song that was inspired by her daughter opens with the acoustic guitar rhythm similar to the distinct sound of The Cranberries. Dolores O'Riordan wrote all of the songs on this album. I love listening to this CD especially on the road (it's awesome Driving Music!). Dolores has an incredible voice - uniquely amazing. My favorite song on the album is track 5 titled "Loser" though it's the shortest one on the CD, it is very catchy and after a few listens you will find yourself singing along! I love how the tracks incorporate Irish instruments such as the Tin Whistle and Fiddle - totally complimenting the mellow yet rockish sounds with guitars, drums, and various instruments. Eventhough her music/voice is different than other artists out there, I believe that you will enjoy this album if you like music by Alanis Morissette, The Corrs, (The Cranberries of course), Sixpence None the Richer, Dido, and Enya.
