I often wonder where the outsides go when I step inside this empty street underneath the sky is only under a painted ceiling
with pretty clouds only a little higher than an armstretch out of reach.
I walk forward on pavement that may only be rugged carpet I walk faster but it could be the background moving
and I could be standing still
completely still.
haven't I got something better to do? haven't I got something better to think about? when the sky is falling and the sun's light is burning out . . .
maybe it's just me a crowded head, an empty body
I often wonder what happens to the rain once it has evaporated sinks into the skin of the floor of the street or the dirt
then drips back through the sky . . .
and the ceiling's leaking again.

The beginning is really great. You caught my interest with the first two lines. I also like
"but it could be the background moving
and I could be standing still
completely still"
and
"I often wonder what happens to the rain once it has evaporated sinks into the skin of the floor of the street or the dirt
then drips back through the sky . . .
and the ceiling's leaking again"
It's really interesting, and it's bringing me some thoughts...

"I walk faster but it could be the background moving
and I could be standing still
completely still. "
.......I really liked the wording here. This was great.
