Do you keep all your poetry? If so, where do you keep it and what do you keep it in?
I keep all my poetry in binders or file folders on my desk. Most is labelled "Laura's Poetry 1999-2000" or "Poetry 2003".
Do you ever go back and read any? Also, do you ever try and revise one that's a couple of years old? I have tried doing that. I've also taken a poem and rewrote it backwards (from the bottom to the top, had to change a couple of lines, but it was fun).
So anyone like doing things like that?

[glow=purple,2,300]I keep all my work... if the question was, "do you keep all your poetry organized?" the answer would be no. I've got my poetry everywhere... my notebooks, "sketch books" (they're supposed to be sketches in there but they just turn into journals), scraps of paper... in shoe boxes... i aim to get them all together one day... i just get lazy every time i start. i do go back and read them once in awhile, but i hardly ever revise... i should though.. but it's just interesting to see how my writing have changed over the years.[/glow]

No, I don't really keep my stuff organized. I used to just keep it in some sort of pile near my bed, but now when I write, it's usually in a binde, so it usually just ends up back in there. I have gone back and revised some old stuff...or tried to. It was from before I got good.

Sharon, I have a sketch book as my journal. Heh. No lines = no boundaries. That's my thought for the day, I'm done

No ... but I actually like the lines better because I can't write straight without them and it ends up going in an upwards motion towards the end of the page.

[glow=black,2,300] Yeah, I'm with Sharon on this one. I have all of my poetry......somewhere. lol. I've got notebooks, journals, and sketchbooks full of it. I also have a few...erm...regular novels and printed poetry collections that I've scribbled things down on. I will organize it all.........eventually.......maybe. [/glow]

I don't have a particular place where I keep all my stuff. Most of my work is now all typed on the computer. I keep the originals in a drawer next to the bed. So you can imagine, it's pretty sloppy.

Every semester before school starts I go and buy one notebook for each class I am taking... Whether or not I use the notebooks for class.. well that is a whole other story... Anyways, when I have my notebook out in class and am taking notes I often get bored and that is when some of my best work has been written, I draw, doodle, write (poetry, ideas for poems, short stories, letters, etc.) At the end of the semester whether I used all of the pages or not I put them in a box I have had for like 10 years.. every once in awhile I will go back and read my work.. but not very often. When I do I usually just read some of my random thoughts and it provokes me to write other stuff... it is great fun... other than that... my poetry is stuffed into several different places in my room, in journals, on scrap paper, and even on my old desk got in big trouble for that one... yea, I find it everywhere... sometimes I will even write completely random things on the computer... but those never stay saved very long, I delete them and erase them from my mind...

I've kept all of my work but if i dont like i piece i throw it away..i feel that if i keep that piece that it would mess my whole process of writing a poem or rewriting one. I rewrite alot of my poetry but I don't have the time during the school year so what i usually do is wait till the summer to fix my poetry up i have about 4 notebooks and a folder full of poetry if i write a poem at school i usually will take it home and put it in my folder and just forget about it for a little while unless i want to share it with you guys. My notebooks just say quotes or my name all over it...they aren't really organized i just kind of write in all of my notebooks and keep an open mind about things...my one note book however is called the story of an extraordinary girl..it was suppose to be my autobiography but i decided it was stupid and that i really dont remember my past much only the bad things that end up in my poems.
